RECREATED UNDERGROUND TOUR
VISIT
Our museum’s knowledgeable and fun tour guides will escort you on a fascinating tour of our recreated underground gold mine, created by more than 140 Homestake miners and former mining employees over 30 years ago. This realistic exhibit is the only comprehensive look at both early-day and modern underground mining in the Black Hills, telling the story of the Western Hemisphere’s deepest gold mine.
Tours are approximately one hour long and start on the hour, starting at 9:00am with the last tour starting at 4:00pm. Our mining tours are handicap accessible, and one of our friendly guides would be happy to accommodate you and your family as best as we can.
